2017 Plano East Marching Band
Pit Crew, Guard, and Sideline Roadies

 

The purpose of the Pit Crew, Guard and Sideline Roadies is to help the Plano East Senior High Marching Band at all performances and contests. These students should be 9th and 10th graders at their schools. The Pit Crew will assist in loading and unloading of sideline percussion equipment and movement to the field. The Sideline Assistants will help with logistical items such as drum major podiums and ladders. Guard assistants will help the guard by retrieving guard equipment during performances.

 

All students and their parents must meet and agree to the following guidelines in order to be considered for this position.

  • Have approval from their campus directors.
  • Be present at all performances of the band. (Games & contests)
  • If you cannot commit to all performances and contests, please do not apply.
  • You will wear the “Tour” Shirt with jeans for all games and performances. The tour shirt is included in your cost to be a Roadie.
  • Travel with the band to and from all performances.
  • Observe all Band & PISD policies regarding student conduct.

Each student helper will be responsible for $150.00 to cover all transportation and “Pre-Game” meals while with the Plano East Marching Band. It also covers the “Tour” T-Shirt.  Each student helper is also responsible for bringing your own Plano East Water Jug to every game.  If you do not have a Plano East Water Jug, you may purchase one online at Planoeastband.com or on the electronic application form.

 

You can either pay in full ($150) or make a $50 deposit by September 1.

 

If you make a deposit, the payment schedule is:

$50 by September 15

$50 by October 15

 

Make all checks payable to the 'Plano East Band Boosters'. Please include the student’s name and PISD student ID number on all checks.  

 

The students who wish to participate will provide an invaluable service to the Plano East Band. Many Roadies go on to become Squad Leaders and Drum Majors (4/4 current drum majors were Roadies.)
